MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cell Line Development Scientist to join our growing CMC- Cell Line Development (CLD) Team. S/he will work to develop and optimise all aspects of a CLD platform to derive stable regulatory compliant mammalian cell lines producing engineered exosome therapeutics. This will involve a unique opportunity to develop, optimise and establish stages such as transfection, stable pool generation and screening, derivation of monoclonal cell lines through to execution of in-vitro cell age cell substrate stability studies. The CLD Scientist will also have an opportunity to develop new mammalian host cell line(s) to aid establishment of a CLD platform.
Working within CLD team on assigned elements of work - develop, optimise and establish an industry leading CLD platform delivering high quality, regulatory complaint suspension and/or adherent cell lines suitable to support manufacturing of exosome therapeutics.
Transfection, recovery, screening through to ‘stable pool’ establishment and testing.
Derivation of regulatory complaint monoclonal cell lines using latest approaches to single cell derivation and imaging.
Screening, ranking and establishment of clonal cell line leads.
Establish ‘pre-master’ cell stocks suitable for transfer to GMP facilities to manufacture GMP MCB/WCB’s.
Establish ‘mock’ Master and Working Cell Banks (MCB/WCB) mimicking ‘future’ GMP MCB/WCB for use by CMC- Upstream Process Development/Non-Clinical Manufacturing teams.
Work collaboratively with scientists in Research, Upstream Development, Analytical Development. Non-Clinical Manufacturing and Quality/Regulatory.
Ensure experiments are completed and maintained according Company data integrity policies and procedures.
Contribute to ‘Cell Line History’ reports.
Troubleshoot equipment and methods within the CLD team.
Present data and conclusions to Evox CMC and Research teams.
Contribute to the maintenance and housekeeping of a safe laboratory working environment.
An ambitious scientist seeking a role that ‘makes a difference’ and relish the opportunities and challenges of working in rapidly expanding biotechnology company.
Excited by the challenge of inventing, developing a CLD platform virtually ‘de-novo’ rather than just ‘tweaking at the edges’ an existing platform.
Want to apply your skills and knowledge to a new and novel area of medicine development.
Have great communication skills and ability to present own innovative ideas and solutions.
Experience & knowledge
BSc/MSc in a Biological Science, Biochemical Engineering or related discipline.
4-5 years post graduate cell line development experience, gained in an industrial laboratory, for example biologics and/or viral-gene therapy field.
Experience of working with automated systems such as ambr15 and/or use of DoE would be an advantage but not essential.
