KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work collaboratively alongside the IP and Legal Team and will be responsible for:

Assisting with the filing and preparation of documents

Entering deadlines into IP asset management system and filing associated documents into the system

monitoring deadlines for the IP portfolio ensuring deadlines are met and the registration process runs smoothly

Typing and editing documents, reports and presentations

Managing formal matters such as the documents required on filing or grant (translations, Power of Attorneys, assignments etc), including collating documents to be signed, forwarding them for signature with clear instructions

Liaising with outside counsel, licensors and renewals providers regarding meetings, billing, etc

Liaising with translators and obtaining quotes 

Checking invoices and interacting with finance department

Following up with inventors to ensure invention disclosures are fully executed

Experience & knowledge

Essential

Previous experience in patents (administration/secretarial/paralegal)

Excellent IT skills, some knowledge of EPO/UKIPO/WIPO filing systems.

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

An eye for detail and precision

Independent worker with willingness to take on wide range of tasks

Good sense of humour

Desirable

Experience gathered in an in-house setting

Experience of the IPO

CIPA Administrator qualification

Experience with trademark administration

Experience drafting CDAs
